Amygdala size in general correlates to the social life of a person. Usually the larger the Amygdala, the larger the social circle, and the complexity of the relationship is.
For Autists, this doesn't work. Despite the Amygdala being slightly lager and left and right side more symmetric, the Amygdala of people with Autism functions differently, and usually has different shapes from that of normal people.
Autists have a better fight or flight system than normal people, and make a fight or flight choice quicker.
The change in the amygdala shape is probably why Autists can interact well with eachother, but badly with normies.
Another interesting thing is that Autists are less prone to "groupthink", most likely because of the different and smaller social reward system.
Autistics don't get along well with people and generally like being alone, are very detail oriented, and enjoy sharing information. In primitive times they were optimally suited for going out away from the rest of the tribe for long periods of time, scouting an area to identify things like food sources, good places for shelter, threats, etc, and reporting back.
FUN FACT
To activate your amygdala, close your eyes and visualize a feather tickling the area of your brain directly behind and slightly below your eyebrows.
Picture this vividly, feel it activate.
You should feel a very soft "click" and an almost vertigo-like sensation of your perception shifting from the back of your brain to the front of your brain.
You will feel the tension in your mind and body dissipate, your anxieties disappear. This is your brain shifting from the lizard brain to the transcendent brain.
To make this your default setting, practice transcendental meditation by sitting in silence for 15 minutes with your eyes closed and practicing this amygdala click whilst repeating a mental mantra anytime an intrusive thought appears. At the end of the 15 minute timer you can stop.
